Use SN4600C’s documented management role to plan a DGX fabric

Overview

NVIDIA’s DGX BasePOD H200/H100 deployment guide gives SN4600C a specific role: a pair of switches provides in-band management and provisioning connectivity. Hosts are dual-homed through bonded interfaces, and the switches use MLAG. The hardware overview also lists SN4600C as an option for Ethernet-attached storage, alongside a separate InfiniBand option. These are concrete manufacturer design examples, with no claim about a SwitchInfra-delivered installation. MSN4600-CS2RC is the 100GbE member of that hardware family. Its exact order code maps to 64 QSFP28 ports, a 2U chassis, Cumulus Linux, two AC supplies and connector-to-power airflow. Do not transfer the 200GbE rate of the different VS2RC configuration to this product. The reference guide names SN4600C but does not specify the CS2RC airflow suffix. Before adapting the design, list which connections carry management, provisioning, storage and external access. Reserve ports for peer links and uplinks, map host bonds to both switches, and review routing and failure behavior with the deployment team. The example commands must be checked against the selected Cumulus release and the actual addressing plan. For facilities planning, the hardware guide’s 466 W value is typical consumption with passive cables under its stated test condition. It is not a universal maximum.
